Dragon Blades Raid Point System

(Updated 4/26/2008)

Raid Point Rules:
1. Everyone may bid on drops they will use.  More Raid Points determines how high you can bid (up to total possessed points).

2. All BoE gear is held by the ML (Master Looter) and rolled on after the next raid boss kill, or at the Raid Leader’s discretion.

3. Disconnect or AFK for more than 15 minutes and you can be removed from the raid and replaced. You keep any points earned up till then.

4. If you quit the guild, you may lose all Raid Points, at the discretion of the officers.
5. Raid Points are per person, not per alt. If you have multiple alts, you have one pool of Raid Points.
6. Items won must be used, not sold, not DEed. You may not roll on an item for your alt that is not in the raid.
7. To bid on any item, you must have been actively involved in the entire fight that caused the drop.

Rules Regarding MCI / Raiders / Core+:
1)         MCI - When at a raid and bidding on loot, they will be unable to bid more than 300 of their points for any given item.
.
2)         Raider - This rank has priority over MCI only for raid invites.   The Raider rank also will be unable to bid more than 500 of their points on any

given item.
3)         Core - Core fall into the same raid priority as Vets and Officers.   They have no cap on their points usable when bidding on items.

Member’s current status is listed on the main Raid Points page.  http://www.thedragonblades.com/DBlades/content/view/45/83/

These rules are the baseline. All members are strongly encouraged to consider the best interests of the guild when taking any loot, whether the rules allow it or not.

How bidding works:

1.                  The Bid Supervisor (likely the Master Looter on the run) will list the item and the base-line cost in Raid Points for it, and request bidders.  Anyone whose point total is at least the base-line cost may indicate at this time their desire to bid for the item, by stating their bid as the base-line cost or higher.

2.                  All bids are publicly done in /raid.  The process is free-form, there is no set order to the bidders.  Bids do revolve around the highest bid placed; a new bid must be at least 10 Raid Points higher than the highest bid, or the maximum points possessed by the bidder.  The bid supervisor during this time should help ensure tracking clarity (via TS or /raid) to let it be known who is the highest bidder and what that bid is at currently.

Example #1:  Bob puts in a bid for a super-duper sword for 200 points, and so does Fred.  Bob’s bid appears in /raid 0.000003 seconds faster than Fred’s does.  Since Bob’s bid came in first, Fred’s bid does not count (he has to bid higher than Bob).  Fred would have to submit another bid if he wants the super-duper sword.

Example #2:  Bob bids 300 for his T20 shoulders.  Fred wants the shoulders too, and has 304 points.  As long as Fred bids all 304 points, he may place a bid that is less than 10 points higher than Bob’s bid (as bidding one’s maximum points or 10 points higher, whichever difference is less, is acceptable).  If Fred bids 304, then Bob would need to bid at least 314 or whatever his maximum points are (should they be less than 314 but more than Fred’s bid of 304).

3.                  After a brief period with no new bids, the Bid Supervisor should state the highest bid and who has it, and asks for any final bids (“Going once, going twice, sold” expression or equivalent highly desired for dramatic effect).  Upon conclusion of the bidding process, the item is awarded to the winner, and the winner’s points are deducted by the amount of their winning bid.

4.                  If a player is caught bidding more than the points they possess, a point penalty may be assessed, up to 100 points, at the discretion of the officers regarding the severity of the error.  The player may immediately lose the right to bid on the item, and may lose the right to bid on any additional items for the raid or possibly future raids (again, depending on the determination of the officers).  Depending on the impact of the false bid, the next-highest bid may be used or the entire bidding process may start over.

5.                  If no one with the points to cover the item expresses an interest in bidding, those who do not have the points may express interest in the item.  If more than one person without the necessary points has interest, the one with the most points wins (e.g., If Timmy and Tommy have -100 and -200 points, respectively, and they both want an item that costs 80 points, Timmy will win because he isn’t as deep in the hole).  If the point totals are tied for the top contenders, they will random out of 100 to determine the winner.  Loot obtained in this fashion will cost the base-point amount and be deducted from the winner’s Raid Points total.

Special Rules on "Blue" Items

BoE Blue items are sent to the guild bank for sale or otherwise distributed to the membership as needed (priority to those on the run who can use).  The expectation is gear will likely be sold or sharded, and spells/recipes given to those that can use.

BoP Blue items are given via a straight /random to those that can use.  No points are charged.

Loot – Multiple Class Use

Officers have the right to determine what class(es) may bid on items that maybe used by multiple classes. This decision will be based upon what the officers feel is in the best interest of the guild.

How to earn raid points:
1 point for being on time at start (at the instance entrance, ready to roll)
5 point per hour in the instance (rounded up); 8 points if all/most of the night is spent on a “new” boss (any boss downed fewer than three times by the guild)
2 points per boss killed
1 point for staying until the end of the raid

Those sitting on the bench and in compliance with the bench policy shall earn points at the same level as those attending the run.

Boss Read-and-Post Policy

For each new boss we face, we set up a post in the forum for that zone; named something like "XXBoss Strat - Read, watch, and post HERE".  Once you've read the strat and watched any video that might be attached, post in that thread.

Failure to do this will result in no DKP earned on bosses you've not read up on, and no loot rights on that boss; until you've read the strat and make your post.  This is the same if you're on the bench or in the zone.  We will also likely not bring you to the boss at all if we have someone else available to fill your role.  The first time you would be impacted by this rule (losing DKP or Loot) you will be given a warning, but still allowed to continue normally.  After that it's your job to make sure this gets done; no more grace period will be given.

The fine print:
Ties are broken by a straight /random 100 with no modifiers.

Raid Points earned are added to your total at the end of the night, not during the raid.

The Bid Supervisor is responsible for calculating the winners, and announcing.

If you bid and lose, no points are deducted from your total.

You have one pool of points for all official guild raids. The raid must be called official to be eligible for point generation. Official raids must be scheduled. The runs eligibility for Raid Point generation will be noted.

Recipes/patterns/etc are bid out, starting at 0.  The guild may hold BoE patterns if no one on the run is interested, to distribute to another guild member.

You ARE allowed to go into the negative on raid points. So if you have 50 points now, and you win a 100 point item, you are going to have -50 points, and have to work your way out of the hole.

You are allowed to go negative to any amount.

Any disputes about any of the above will be settled at the sole discretion of the Guild Master. If the dispute involves an item that is BoP or can’t wait for some other reason, it will be settled by the ranking guild member online at the time.
