Code of Conduct (updated 04.26.2008)

This is the Code of Conduct for the Dragon Blades Guild – Please read it, study it. You will be expected to stick to it.

Dragon Blades : Code of Conduct

You are expected to behave in a mature manner; be courteous and polite to all guild members. We do not tolerate bad behavior and players not worth dealing with. Be ready to politely withdraw and avoid conflict, but be ready to help whenever help is appreciated. Remember you should not be ashamed of yourself or your fellow guildees. Be an active player, grow your character, get new gear and get experience in reasonable matter. Dragon Blades are ok with having casual players, but more than 3 months of inactivity will get you removed from guild (exceptions are granted by Thespore, please contact him in those cases).

Please remember, all the time, that we play World of Warcraft for fun and we want to enjoy it. Also please remember that we all have a thing called "real life".

Ask for help and give help in right time

Our Guild can help you in many ways, but do not take the guild for granted and do not misuse the guild as substitute for your own experience in game. It's your character and it is you who must grow and get experience. World of Warcraft is collective and cooperative game, so cooperate/group with others players as much as you can. Whenever you need help, do not hesitate to ask. Whenever you are available to help, do not hesitate to state it clearly and loudly. Do not expect to receive help if you are not willing to give help.

Be aware that getting help is not guaranteed. People sometimes have other things they need/want to do so be patient. If you cannot get a guild member your own level to accompany you on your difficult quest or instance, do the same as all other players do - join other players/parties (PUG) and get your quests/instances done.

Guild Ranks

Initiate - fresh new beginner in guild, if proves as ready to be member, will be promoted no less than 2 week after becoming a Initiate. See also note in Recruiting new members

MCI  -  MCI will remain strictly family and friends.  When at a raid and bidding on loot, they will be unable to bid more than 300 of their points for any given item.

Raider   -  As a raid tagged member, you are an adequate player, and adequately geared to raid.  This does not mean you can't improve, and in most cases, you probably will require improvement.  Areas of raiding where we expect to see improvement are:

a) Researching your class - Read up on theorycrafting to understand the best combination of gear, spec and role.
b) Gear - Research where the best gear choices can be found and make efforts to achieve these items, whether it be from arena, pvp, badges, rep or raiding.
c) Understanding bosses - Learn what needs to be done at bosses we are learning, or even farming, if you're new to the encounter.

Any one of these reasons could be the reason your in this rank.  If you want to know why, then you should seek someone in your class that is a Veteran or Officer and ask them for help.   Another thing you should do is to read www.elitistjerks.com and learn about your class.  So in the end, use this to improve yourself.   We (Officers and Veterans) are going to be evaluating you constantly and when you improve and start to perform up to the same standards as our other players, then you will be given the opportunity to bump up.

Lastly, this rank has priority over MCI only for raid invites.   The Raider rank also will be unable to bid more than 500 of their points on any given item.

Core  Core are our solid (core) players.  These players are on top of thier Utility function, they research thier class, and they keep up on raid/mob strategies.

Core fall into the same raid priority as Vets and Officers.   They have no cap on their points usable when bidding on items.  Additionally, Veterans and Officers will evaluate the Raid ranked players for promotion to Core.

Veteran    Vets are our "class leaders" and players that we rely on for review of strategy.  Veterans will be able to vote on new members promotion to a full member rank.  They have the same raid invite priority as Core and Officers, and face no cap on their points when bidding.

Officer     No real change here.   We are the only ones with input on veteran promotions and officer promotions if we see a need for it.  Officers have the same raid invite priority as Cores and Vets, and face no cap on their points when bidding.

2nd in Command – Brutariys - The backup to the GM.  Also in charge of any poo-eating requirements.  May or may not be a tyrant.

GM - Guild Master – Thespore

Redshirt – This is a probationary level. This is one step above being removed from the guild. All Officers and above have the right to place individuals on “Redshirt” status if they deem necessary for the good of the guild. The length of time and any further actions will be determined by consulting with other officers, 2nd in Command or GM.  While in Redshirt status you can see guild chat but can’t ‘speak’.

Alt characters

The Dragon Blades welcome your ALT characters into the guild, but there is an important condition - it must be known what is your MAIN character and what are your ALT characters in guild. Please leave a note under your player notes telling that these are alts of ____. Your ALT characters will get the same rank as your main.

Recruiting new members

Please Note - Recruiting is currently restricted. Perspective Applicants should apply on the DB forums and wait to be contacted by our guild recruiting officer.

All applicants must fill an application completly in the Application Forum. Members are encouraged to give Feedback on perspective applicants in the Applicant's Feedback Forum. This Forum is restricted only to approved members and applicants will not be able to view this section. The requirement is an instance run should be performed with the individual prior to the invite unless the individual is already known.

Freshly recruited members will get the rank of Initiate - he/she will be promoted after a roughly three week trial period if the majority of Veteran and above members feel you will be a valuable addition.

Dragon Blades Raid Points (DBRP)

The Dragon Blades utilizes a bid based loot system. The details on this is posted here. The GM or his alternate will decide if a raid falls under DBRP.

Guild “Do Not’s”

·         Do not be offensive, harassing, obscene, or rude. Take arguments, etc into private channels or ask an Officer to assist with the problem.

·         Do not spam, misuse chat channel, say (/s), yell (/y) nor guild channel (/g)

·         Do not beg for items, money, quest help or anything else

·         Do not ever try to ninja anything, misuse other members skill - Intentional Ninja equals instant boot.

·         Do not let farming or grinding take over normal PvE activity

·         Do not cause repeated party/raid wipe. Please listen to instructions from raid leader. Repeated failure will cause you to not be invited to future raid runs.

·         Remember you wear the guild tag above your head at all times, what you do in PUG raids or elsewhere effects how we all are perceived.  Keep us proud.

·         Do not ever sell items you acquired at guild run, or made from mats acquired during a guild run.

Breaking any "Do Not" could have consequence of having you removed from guild.

Guild “Do’s”

·         Do learn to play your character to maximum extent.

·         Do invest properly in talents, skills.

·         Do get best equipment (armor, weaponry) for your character you can.

·         Do listen to those giving you valuable advice.

·         Do obey the Guild Code.

Partying and Raiding

The Dragon Blades does not require its members to participate in Guild Raid or Party runs, however for the betterment of all, we ask you at least try to attend 2 raids per week. Also, those who do run more raids, help, etc., are the ones who will advance the most. As general rule of thumb there are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday raids starting at 6ST, running until 10ST or so.

Online Raid Signup is currently utilized for organizing guild DBRP runs. Use it or risk being left out.

Resolving conflicts

Any conflicts (in or out of Guild) are to be resolved by GM and/or at least two Officers. During a raid/party raid run, the Officer in the run will resolve. If no Officer in the run, consult the Officer online to resolve.

And last most important rule

Whenever you do not understand something, ASK!
