First, we would like to thank you for expressing an interest in the
Dragon Blades. This thread is meant to be a sort of step by step guide through the application process as well as outlining a few requirements and background.
Please read this thread and the Dragon Blades Raiding Policy completely before completing your application. At no point is this synopsis a replacement for our Guild Policy. It is linked throughout this document, and you can see it by clicking the link below:
Dragon Blades Raiding PolicyThe
Dragon Blades is a raiding guild with a semi-casual attitude. What that means is that we take a more liberal approach to mandatory raiding and you are not required to make every raid. However, we are currently only seeking players who are motivated to raid, skilled at their class, and know the mechanics of raiding. While we do not have mandatory attendance, we do expect you to make the majority of the scheduled raids. Attendance is one of the factors considered when assigning raid spots for any given raid.
We also expect our active raiders to participate in the forums in order to help with application feedback and to stay current on our ever-evolving policies.
We also expect you to be respectful of your fellow guildies and remember we are a team. (i.e. don't be a dick to each other)
Dragon Blades Recruitment Coordinators Outside of relations with any guild member that you currently know, your main liaisons during your application process are the Recruitment Coordinators (RC's). They are tasked with managing all aspects the application process. Any questions or comments regarding recruiting needs, the application process, or general policy should be directed to them. However, we also encourage you to chat with Officers as well as the RC's during this process, but they may direct you to an RC for some questions.

Application and Guild Tag- The potential applicant will read this thread and the Dragon Blades Raiding Policy before submitting an application. Congrats you are half way though #1.
- After reading the required information the applicant will post a properly filled out application in the “Applications Forum” in accordance with the guidelines and templates given in other threads. An application will not be considered if it is not the correct template or is not filled out properly.
- Once posted, the application will be placed in a feedback forum for a peer review for an undetermined period. This feedback is strictly confidential. During this period is is highly advised to check your application thread as some Dragon Blades members may have questions or comments that you will need to address.
- A Recruitment Coordinator will contact the applicant in game or on these forums for a brief conversation regarding class availability, expectations, and to give the RC a better impression of the applicant. Please feel free to take the initiative to contact the RC's, Skaergaard or Daeir, in game with any questions you may have or if you feel like you are receiving a slow response.
- Once the applicant has been found acceptable, he/she be informed by the recruitment officer and tagged as an Initiate within the Dragon Blades. Their application will remain in the feedback forum for a more rigorous review.
InitiatesThe Initiate stage has 2 paths, Raider and Casual. This is something that you should have notated in your application when applying. This stage is a trial period where guild members will evaluate and comment on your performance and character. Both Initiate statuses come with upgraded forum access. The applicant will have access to all of the General Forums with the exception of the
“Application Feedback” section. Initiates are not allowed to see any feedback on their application. You will be able to post in all forums, and we highly encourage you to do so.
During the initiate phase, you are highly encouraged to get to know folks, group with them, help out folks, and run heroics or 10 mans to fill in pieces of gear you may need. Most importantly, you are encouraged to raid with us at all possible times that there is room in the raid. This does not mean that you will get into all raids, but it means that you are available.
Initiates will be eligible to earn raid points, and will be eligible for gear only in so far as it is laid out in our
Dragon Blades Raiding PolicyApplicants CAN and WILL be subject to guild codes of conduct and disciplinary actions up to and including expulsion from the guild.
Casual members will ONLY be invited to raids if the raid cannot be filled by full member raiders or by raider initiates. The only caveat to this is if the raid leadership deems their class/ spec necessary to continue and other options are unavailable. Casual Initiates- Once accepted as an Initiate for the Casual rank, a 1-week trial period will commence. During this period the applicant will be reviewed and commented on in an "Application Feedback” thread.
- Toward the end of the trial period a vote will be put forth to the Guild membership. Anticipate the receive a Casual rank promotion about 1-1.5 weeks after being tagged.
- The options given on these applications will be:
- “Yes - Casual”
- “No - Gkick”
- The poll will stand for 3-5 days.
- Following a majority vote of “Yes” the initiate will be promoted in game at the beginning of the next scheduled raiding day.
- If the majority of the vote is “Gkick”, the applicant will be notified as soon as possible and expected to leave in an appropriate manner. If the applicant is not able to be reached in a timely fashion, a gkick will be issued and a letter explaining the action via in game mail.
- Casual initiates will not be eligible to app for full raider status for 3 weeks after being accepted. Officer can waive this waiting period if they choose.
- If a casual member chooses to reapply as a raider after their waiting period is over then they will go through the entire process involved with a raider application. Time served as a Casual will not be credited towards the Raider Initiate trial period.
Raider InitiatesInitiates applying as a raider in the
Dragon Blades are expected to make all reasonable concessions to be available for official raid nights. If an applicant is unable to make an official raid they should post in the
“Guildee Schedule” forums.
- Once accepted as a Raider Initiate, a trial period of ~3 weeks will begin. During this period the Guild Membership of Raider rank will evaluate and make comments under the initiate’s Application Feedback thread.
- Near the end of the trial period a poll will be posted:
- The voting options will be:
- "Yes - Raider"
- "No - Gkick"
- "Extend Application 1 Week" (see below section)
- "Casual"
- The poll will stand for 3-5 days.
- A casual vote is not always offered. It may be added depending on the input of the membership of the guild.
- Membership can change their vote at any time during this period, up until the vote closes.
- If the majority of the vote is "Casual", the applicant will be placed in the casual rank and all rules governing that rank shall apply.
- Once the applicant accepts the Raider rank, a promotion will be given at the next scheduled raid time.
Extended PeriodIf a Raider Initiate receives a majority of the votes of “Extended”, a 1 week extension will be granted. At the end of that week another vote will be put forth in the same manner previously, but with no option to extend. An extended vote doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad. The membership may need a little more time to evaluate the applicant.
